Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) celebrated 50 years of Bangabandhu’s receipt of the Julio Curie Medal of Peace, the first-ever international award for Bangladesh.

The DScE organized a discussion meeting and blood donation program on the occasion on Saturday.

A documentary on Bangabandhu receiving the Peace Medal was screened at the beginning of the program.

Former Chairman of UGC Professor Abdul Mannan was the chief guest on the occasion. Professor Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, coordinator, department of Entrepreneurship Economics presided over the program.

Professor Mannan said, Bangabandhu always believed in peace, justice, and equality of the society.

Among others, assistant professor Rehana Parveen, Dr. Sara Tasnim, and lecturer Shamim Ahmed were present and also spoke at the function.

The Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was awarded the medal on May 23, 1973.
