Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) remembered 43rd death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Aug 15, 2018. The programme was presided over by Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad. One minute silence was observed in honour of departed souls of the Father of the Nation and his martyred family members. Students, teachers and staff of DScE attended at programme. During Mujib’s regime, the country witnessed seed of the industrial development, agricultural and rural improvement, spread of education for all opined by Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad. Dr Ahmad recalled with gratitude of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s extensive and hectic political career and his huge contributions and enthusiasm to the independent drive for an independent Bangladesh.
Among others Prof Dr Qazi Saleh Ahmad, former Vice-chancellor, Jahangirnagar University and visiting Professor of DScE, Prof Dr Jaheda Ahmad, former Professor of History of the University of Dhaka, Mohammad Selim, head of Admin, Development and Academic Affairs, Prof Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Dr AKM Nuzrul Islam, Dr Touhid Reza Nur, also spoke the occasion. Students’ recited poem in memory of Bangabandhu and also a documentary was shown as the recognition of the historic 7th March speech of the Father of the Nation as a world documentary heritage.
