Mr. Shuvashish Paul, Lecturer in the Department of Development Economics at Dhaka School of Economics (DScE), has secured a fully funded PhD position with a Graduate Assistantship at the School of Economic Sciences, Washington State University, Pullman, USA. He will commence his PhD in Agricultural Economics in the 2026–2027 academic year. To celebrate this remarkable achievement, Dhaka School of Economics organized a well-wishing ceremony attended by faculty members from across the institution.
This highly competitive award reflects Mr. Paul’s academic excellence, research potential, and unwavering commitment to scholarly pursuits. His research focuses on development economics, with particular interests in applied microeconometrics, causal inference, and machine learning. His work addresses critical development challenges—including agricultural policy, public health, energy poverty, and food security in Bangladesh—with the aim of generating evidence-based insights to support effective policymaking and sustainable development.
The ceremony provided an opportunity for colleagues to congratulate Mr. Paul, acknowledge his valuable contributions to teaching and research, and extend their heartfelt best wishes as he embarks on his doctoral journey.
