The renowned English daily  newspaper “Daily Sun” published an article on “Environmental and resource economics” program of Dhaka School of Economics written by Sanjida Afroz  on 24 March, 2019.

Every student at their university life wish to reach the destination where the sky and the land get together. To set up the sail of this voyage one must be particularly guided by the right wind. But sometimes we are in need of the desired wind. Over the last few decades, Bangladesh and its neighbouring countries were in need of Economics graduate specializing in Environmental and Resource Economics.

However, Dhaka School of Economics in association with the University of Dhaka launched undergraduate studies in Environmental and Resource Economics to educate people about the right utilization of Environmental Resources in an economic context. Thus back in 2016 Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, founder chairman of Dhaka School of Economics and former president of Bangladesh Economic Association along with a group of scholars, took a huge initiative to enlighten the economic field with more specific major such as Environmental and Resource Economics.

The school worked hard to set up the syllabus and curriculum, and later on, it was approved by the University of Dhaka, the discipline is being taught in a complete constituent and independent campus. I am one of the few lucky pupils to have myself matriculated in the same. Our campus is situated in the heart of Dhaka city, because it is situated in Eskaton. It has vibrant communication link with commercial capital Motijheel and industrial retail house Bashundhara City.
We have a stunning campus which could be a role model for all in house educational institutions, the library with wide range of collection of books would allow anyone to conduct their research in all possible direction of economics. While the school provides world class research facilities, it has well trained and very friendly, supportive teaching staff.

Most of the faculty members hold PhD degrees from foreign universities. The school doesn’t only offer a secure education but it also provides us a life time experience.

Being our campus situated in the same building with Bangladesh Economic Association, the students here participate in various national and international activities. During a student life, a student receives productive training on practicality by taking part on those events. The school is a house between the studies and life outside school. The technology advanced class room system allows us to go deeper into the understanding of cases.

In a casual event Associate Professor Dr. Nazrul said, “Our aim is to educate people in their fullest sense. After they leave school, they should be confident about their abilities to cope up with twenty first century’s economic challenges.”

We set our mission, our goal is to secure our country from all economic disasters and face the problem with higher confidence. With further wish to explore all hidden economic resources to make the country an economic powerhouse. The campus is politics free and smoking free environment. Here we study, here we grow up. We are the future generation of economics leaders.
