A day-long conference titled “Growth with Equity” was organized jointly by the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) at Dhaka’s PKSF Bhaban on Tuesday.
Forty-two essays were presented in three sessions of the conference.
Speakers at the conference suggested to focus on small investment through community banking to implement balance equity.
PKSF’s Deputy Managing Director of Administration Dr Mohammad Jasim Uddin commented that the “prosperity” program implemented by the PKSF works for the underprivileged people as well as for balancing equity.
Fazlul Quader, Deputy Managing Director of Program of PKSF, remarked that micro entrepreneurship is a necessity for the country’s economic development.
In the closing session, Chairman of PKSF and Director of DScE Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad emphasized on ensuring the rights of the people and building institutional structure for sustainable development.
During the conference Dhaka University’s Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman hoped equal distribution of current government’s development works.
Managing Director of PKSF Md Abdul Karim said they always hold the principle of “Without excluding anybody” to ensure equal development for everyone.
Other DScE professors had given speech at the conference.
