The Dhaka School of Economics Environment Carnival 2026 was successfully organized yesterday to commemorate World Environment Day. Anchored by the central theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future,” the carnival served as a prominent platform for cross-institutional academic exchange, policy discussion, and competitive engagement.
The event witnessed a vibrant turnout, bringing together faculty members, environmental advocates, and students from various universities and colleges. The itinerary featured rigorous inter-university competitions, interactive workshop sessions, and a comprehensive panel discussion addressing pressing climate realities and ecological sustainability.
Key Highlights: Core Speakers’ Discussion
A major cornerstone of the carnival was the Core Speakers Discussion, where leading academics and policy experts shared critical perspectives on sustainable development and environmental governance:
Dr. A K Enamul Haque (Chairman, Dhaka School of Economics) delivered structural insights into strategic environmental economics and policy frameworks.
Rehana Parvin (Director, Dhaka School of Economics) emphasized the pivotal role of academic platforms in fostering climate literacy among youth.
Gaous Pearee (Director, Institute of Wellbeing Bangladesh) articulated the essential linkages between urban ecological health and public well-being.
Dr. Fazle Rabbi Sadeque Ahmed (Deputy Managing Director, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation) highlighted actionable, community-led climate resilience strategies and sustainable resource management.
